Health Fair at the Lexington Farmers Market (Aug 15)
LEXINGTON - The Lexington Farmers Market will host its first Wednesday health fair on Aug. 15.
Several area agencies will be on hand to share information and special activities for children will be available. Also, Chef Dion Sprenkle of Dion's Restaurant in Welcome will be demonstrating how to cook some healthy recipes with locally grown food. The demo will begin at 9:30 a.m.
As usual, fresh produce, plants, flowers, baked goods and locally grown meat at the market will be available.
The market is open Wednesdays and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon, at the Historic Southern Rail and Freight Depot, 129 Railroad St.
Free parking is available at either end of the depot.
