Change is afoot and fall is in the air at the Salisbury Farmers Market in downtown Salisbury, even as the last of summer's dog days are nipping at our heels. Squash, zucchini, okra, and corn should be plentiful through the end of September; corn possibly into October.
Cool season crops are on their way. Sweet potatoes are showing up now and broccoli is on the way. Apples are in good supply and turnips are coming in, too.
Cabbage, melons, bell peppers, tomatoes, peaches, and a variety of greens like mustard greens, kale, Swiss chard, Napa, bok choy, and Malabar spinach are also available. Fresh ginger root and lemongrass were available and go towards making a delicious curry.
The farmers market has a wide variety of produce, meats, crafts, and baked goods as well as some unique offerings like fresh, all-natural cheese from Holton Hollow Farm free of hormones, antibiotics, and preservatives.

Grindtec offers sharpening services for just about any tool or blade you can imagine. Drop off your knives, drill bits, mower blades, garden tools, anything with and edge and pick it up the next week ready for work.

The market is located at the corner of South Main and Bank Streets and is open every Wednesday and Saturday from 7 a.m. until noon through the end of September and every Saturday through December.
