The American Cheese Society (ACS) is the leading organization supporting the understanding, appreciation, and promotion of artisan, farmstead, and specialty cheeses produced in the Americas. Since its founding in 1983, ACS proudly hosts the foremost annual educational conference and world-renowned cheese judging and competition in North America. Each year, more than 800 ACS members from the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Europe gather to participate in educational workshops, network with one another, sample new products, and explore new pairings and trends. The three-day conference culminates in the annual Festival of Cheese, a public celebration featuring more than 1,600 competition cheeses on display for tasting alongside craft beers, wines, and other specialty foods.

The Raleigh Downtown Farmers Market is open every Wednesday thru October 31.
Look for the market on Wednesday from 10am to 2pm in City Plaza on the 400 block of Fayetteville Street. The relocation to City Plaza on Fayetteville Street places the market at the core of downtown activity. The plaza is surrounded by downtown’s largest office towers: BB&T Building, Bank of America Building, and Progress Energy Plaza. It’s the center stage for Raleigh’s visitors, workers, and residents. In addition to the highest quality farmers and food artisans, the 2012 season will feature food festivals, chef demonstrations, tastings, and weekly entertainment. The market is open rain or shine!
