Holiday Farmers Market in downtown Kannapolis Nov. 23-24

KANNAPOLIS - The annual Holiday Farmers Market at 120 West Avenue in downtown Kannapolis is from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.Friday, Nov. 24 and Saturday, Nov. 25.

An extension of the indoor, year-round farmers market, sponsored by the NC Research Campus, the Holiday Famers Market offers local and North Carolina-based products, from fresh produce to unique hand-crafted gifts.

"This is a fun way for the NCRC to join in celebrating the holidays by making fresh produce available along with beautiful and creative gifts made by our local artisans and entrepreneurs," said Phyllis Beaver, NCRC marketing director. "The indoor, year-round farmers market does both every Thursday, but the Holiday Market is a special occasion for families who want to celebrate the holidays with local foods and original gifts."

The Holiday Farmers Market annually draws hundreds of people from as far away as South Carolina and Virginia who find a variety of products and merchandise, including fresh fruits and vegetables; cakes, pies and homemade candy; jellies and jams; canned goods and candles; jewelry and jackets; North Carolina Christmas trees, wreaths, and greenery; North Carolina wines and juices; and hand-crafted gifts.

The market includes food vendors, wine tasting by North Carolina vineyards, visits from Santa and Mrs. Claus, children's activities and, weather permitting, horse and carriage rides. The event always provides great opportunities for Christmas card photographs.

Cash or check accepted with prices to suit every budget. The weekly farmers market is Thursdays from 3-6 p.m. at 120 West Avenue in downtown Kannapolis.
