Learn about new farm legislation (Sept. 27)

The North Carolina's General Assembly recently wrapped up a

short session where most of the work focused on the budget. But

according to N.C. Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler, a couple of

pieces of farm-friendly legislation did make it through.

On Thursday, Sept. 27 at 7 p.m. at N.C. Cooperative

Extension-Cabarrus County Center, Joy Hicks, policy development analyst,

NCDA&CS; Ray Starling, general counsel, NCDA&CS; and Paul

Sherman, air and energy programs director, N.C. Farm Bureau, will

provide details of this legislation and how it will affect agricultural

producers and agribusiness. They will discuss additional legislation

that is likely to be brought before the next General Assembly for

possible action. The public is invited. Please RSVP to 704-920-3333.
